Delta Police Executive Management Team
Message from Chief Neil Dubord
The strength of a community does not rest on the police who serve its citizens, but is found within the partnership between citizens and police. Together we work to keep our community safe.
“The power of community to create health is far greater than any physician, clinic or hospital.” - Mark Hyman
Though there is an ever-changing landscape of policing and social issues faced by communities, Delta citizens remain actively engaged through volunteerism, safety initiatives and services. Our partnership with our citizens serves the community well; Delta is consistently ranked as one of the safest communities in BC. This is a tribute to our citizens.
As Chief I have worked to build on the DPD’s long-standing philosophy of ‘no call too small.’ Our focus is on service to the community, and ensuring we have the capacity to go beyond an enforcement-driven model of policing.
Equally important is our emphasis on innovation, diversity and partnerships. We work to be community- centered and collaborative with outside agencies to effectively address complex social issues such as: mental health and addictions, the opioid crisis, homelessness, the pandemic and more.
Prevention and follow- up, wrap around services and access to resources are key to our approach to managing safety and working toward maintaining a healthy community.
Thank you for working along side and partnering with the Delta Police to keep Delta one of the safest communities in BC. Together we are a better and safer community.
